Health Promotion “Kigezi Awakening” 

We have looked at several ways of creating impact to our communities. We have seen our people present to Medicus for specialist care  with endstage diseases. We have seen late presentations of several conditions such as cancer of esophagus, stomach and cervix. We have seen people present late with may other diseases such as heart failure and the most of these being children with rheumatic heart disease and uncontrolled hypertension (adults).

Such late presentations of otherwise preventable medical conditions speaks volumes about need to intensify preventive medicine.

We implemented a program dubbed “Kigezi Awakening” and this involves lobying for funding of regular radio talkshows facilitated by Medicus Health Care Specialists aimed at addressing several health problems affecting the region and Uganda at large.
